Comfortable Shoes That Are Attractive
The shoes we carry aren’t your grandmother’s orthopedic shoes. OK, we’ll admit we do have a few of those, but we are constantly looking for new styles of shoes that have orthopedic qualities without the orthopedic look.
Shoes For Running, Walking and Work
Feet 1st Shoes carries shoes for all phases of your life.
We carry athletic shoes by New Balance and Brooks that are suitable for running, walking, aerobics or tennis. Feet 1st Shoes is one of only two New Balance ProCare dealers in northeast Florida, a designation given to only the most qualified retailers of New Balance athletic footwear.
We also feature casual comfort shoes and sandals by companies like Wolky, Naot, Dunham, Aravon, Supremes and Ecco. We even carry ladies dress shoes by Foot Thrills.
For individuals dealing with more serious foot problems, or who simply need the most supportive and accommodating shoes available, we carry orthopedic lines such as P.W. Minor, Drew, ACOR and Apex.
Specialized Services For Doctors And Their Patients
In addition to serving walk-in customers we provide a wide range of prescription pedorthic services for patients referred by Podiatrists and Physicians from across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
The following are just a few of the more commonly prescribed products or services:
Custom Orthotics for plantar faciitis, excessive pronation or posterior tibial tendon dysfunction.
Custom Accommodative Shoe Inserts for arthritis, knee pain or metatarsalgia.
Extra Depth Shoes for bunions, hammertoes or other foot deformities.
Diabetic Footwear for individuals experiencing foot problems related to diabetes. With proper documentation these shoes are covered by Medicare and Feet 1st Shoes gladly accepts Medicare assignment.
Custom Molded Shoes for individuals with severe medical problems of the feet or severe foot deformity that prevents the fitting of off-the-shelf shoes.
Shoe Modifications such as lifts for leg length discrepancy, toe fillers for amputees, metatarsal bars or rocker bottoms for arthritis of the forefeet.
NOTE: To ensure that referred patients receive our undivided attention, we see customers with prescriptions by appointment only. Please call for an appointment.
When In Doubt See Your Doctor
While our Pedorthist and staff are trained on medical conditions of the feet, we do not diagnose. Accordingly, if you are experiencing severe foot pain we recommend you see your primary care doctor or a Podiatrist first. If you don’t know a Podiatrist, call us for a recommendation of a qualified professional in your area or consult with your insurance carrier to see who is an authorized provider under your plan.
Help For Orthotic Wearers
If you wear foot orthotics, an Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) or an orthopedic brace we can help you select shoes that will work well with these types of medical devices.
Ask The Pedorthist
Still not sure if we’re the right alternative for you? We invite you to stop by our store or call to speak with our Pedorthist. He would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
